Maintenance

Z-offset

When the printing module has been moved, we recommend that you use z-offset. This function will help you to adjust the printing distance between the print bed and the extruder module.

  1. Please unload the filament and clean the nozzle before using z-offset.
  2. Click [DASHBOARD] > [SetUp] > [Z offset] to start z-offset adjustment.
  3. Adjust Z up or Z down to find the proper distance.
    NOTE:
    • This product is factory tested and adjusted, we suggest you note the default value for z-offset before your adjustment.
    • Suggested distance between nozzle and print bed(including bed tape) is 0.3mm.

Clean the nozzle

In order to maintain a good printing quality, it is recommended that you clean the nozzle after every 25 hours of printing. Please use the Clean Nozzle function in the software.

  1. Switch on the power and click [DASHBOARD] > [Extruder] > [Clean Nozzle].
  2. Please clamp the nozzle cleaning wire with needle-nosed pliers to insert it into the head of the nozzle carefully for cleaning.

Print bed calibration

Print bed level will affect the 3D printing quality, XYZprinting’s 3D Printer has been adjusted to the best condition before leaving the factory. After long periods of use, the print bed level may change. If you have print adhesion problems, you may need to re-level the print bed.

  1. Switch on the power and activate the Calibrate function in XYZmaker.
  2. Please follow the on-screen instructions.

Clean the filament feed module

After long periods of use, the automatic feed system may inconsistently extrude filament, due to a buildup of residual plastic in the feed module. The printer filament feed module should be cleaned if this happens or after cleaning the nozzle.

  1. Open the feed module cover

  2. Clean the gears by using a gear cleaning brush.

Error Codes

Last updated on May 24th, 2018 at 01:32 pm
Error code: 0007 - unable to locate spool

The nano is unable to read the sensor chip inside of the spool. Using a philips screwdriver, open the white plastic spool and check that the sensor is seated in the the correct position. The sensor chip tracks the amount of filament you have used, and helps to calculate if you have enough to complete the print. When you purchase new filament supplied by XYZprinting, a sensor chip will also be included in the packaging. Without this sensor chip loaded the nano will not be able to use the filament.

Error code: 0008 - unable to locate spool

The nano is unable to read the sensor chip inside of the spool. Using a philips screwdriver, open the white plastic spool and check that the sensor is seated in the the correct position. The sensor chip tracks the amount of filament you have used, and helps to calculate if you have enough to complete the print. When you purchase new filament supplied by XYZprinting, a sensor chip will also be included in the packaging. Without this sensor chip loaded the nano will not be able to use the filament.

error-0007-02

Error code: 0011 - problem with heating

There was a problem with the extruder heating. Turn off the nano and check to see if the extruder connector is securely connected. Restart you printer and retry. If you continue to get the same error, contact the XYZprinting service center for support.

Error code: 0014 - problem with heating

There was a problem with the extruder heating. Turn off the nano and check to see if the extruder connector is securly connected. Restart you printer and retry. If you continue to get the same error, contact the XYZprinting service center for support.

Error code: 0016 - spool not properly installed

The nano is unable to read the sensor chip inside of the spool. Using a phillips screwdriver, open the white plastic spool and check that the sensor is seated in the the correct position. The sensor chip tracks the amount of filament you have used, and helps to calculate if you have enough to complete the print. error-0007-02

Error code: 0028 - Spool not found

Spool may not be installed properly. To reinstall the spool, press Unload Filament then Load Filament in the printer dashboard. If you still get the same error, the nano might be unable to read the sensor chip inside of the spool. Using a phillips screwdriver, open the white plastic spool and check that the sensor is seated in the the correct position. The sensor chip tracks the amount of filament you have used, and helps to calculate if you have enough to complete the print. When you purchase new filament supplied by XYZprinting, a sensor chip will also be included in the packaging. Without this sensor chip loaded the nano will not be able to use the filament.

error-0007-02

Error code: 0029 - no filament left in spool

No filament left in spool. Replace spool and sensor chip before printing. The sensor chip tracks the amount of filament you have used, and helps to calculate if you have enough to complete the print. When you purchase new filament supplied by XYZprinting, a sensor chip will also be included in the packaging. Without this sensor chip loaded the nano will not be able to use the filament. When you replace the filament be sure to open the white plastic spool with a phillips screw driver and check that the sensor is seated in the the correct position.
